About Us

This is a great time to join Gloucestershire County Council, as Children’s Social Care is on an exciting journey, which focuses our approach into being more creative, strengths-based and person-centred, to ensure that we work together to ‘Make a Difference’ to our local communities.

We are an agile working organisation with a combination of office-based working and working from home (essential equipment is provided). We place a high premium on diversity and inclusion, as well as on health and wellbeing and we offer a flexible working scheme which is based on business need. We offer Continued Professional Development and will support you to develop your skills and career prospects within Children’s Services.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced administrator to join us on a part-time, permanent basis working within our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub. The successful candidate will support the Multi Agency Child Exploitation (MACE) and Harm Outside The Home (HOTH) meetings which identify, risk assess and manage risk for children and young people who are vulnerable to criminal or sexual exploitation within the community. This supports prompt decision making regarding intervention from Children’s Social Care and our partner agencies which include Health, Education and Police. The MACE meetings are held virtually via MS Teams during the first week of every month and the HOTH meetings are held daily.

The role is based in Shire Hall, Gloucester and you will be required to attend the office for induction, training, team working and face to face meetings.

Duties will include:

  • Updating invitations to relevant professionals
  • Collating information prior to MACE and HOTH meetings
  • Create and update Attendance Lists

  • Typing contemporaneous minutes
  • Creating and updating a tracking spreadsheet using Excel
  • Creating documents on our bespoke database Liquid Logic
  • Distributing minutes via secure email
  • Assist with monthly data reporting
About You

We are looking for applicants who have excellent minute taking skills and an understanding of working in a confidential office environment. You will have strong IT and communication skills and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach with an ability to manage your workload to meet deadlines. The nature of the work is handling highly sensitive information which can sometimes be distressing so resilience is also key to this role. You will be working with internal colleagues at different levels of the organisation as well as our partner agencies from Health, Education and Police. If you are proactive and enjoy working within a team to provide support to colleagues to meet targets and deadlines, then we look forward to hearing from you. Why are you perfect for this role and what will you bring to our team?

In return we will offer you:

  • Regular formal and informal support.
  • Safe, supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision.
  • Access to relevant training and career progression.
  • Annual leave of 25.5 days (pro rata) up to 30.5 days (pro rata) after 5 years employment.
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Staff discount scheme that offers access to great savings including discounts with major supermarket chains and high street retailers.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) network and the Young Employees Network.
  • Gloucestershire Salary Sacrifice Green Car Scheme (T&C's apply).

Working in Children’s Social Care does require an applicant who can be proactive or responsive to changing demands and resilient to some of the tough emotional content of the role. However, it is also a role that can bring great reward and job satisfaction.
