A prominent educational institution in Preston is looking for a dedicated Teacher of Psychology to join their supportive department starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom teacher with strong communication and organizational skills. Responsibilities include preparing lessons, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment. The role offers a salary between £33,465 and £51,714 per annum with additional benefits, including pension schemes and health support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The staff in the Psychology department are highly motivated and supportive of one another, working very closely as a team. Resources are shared and delivery of content and assessments is standardized to ensure that all students receive the same high quality resources and experience. An ethos of continuous improvement is fostered within the department. Staff have high expectations of students and work hard to support them to achieve their potential.

The Psychology department is looking for an excellent classroom teacher, with a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, with a relevant degree and teaching qualification (if no teaching qualification is held must be willing to work towards this). The successful candidate should be able to display a high level of skill in the management of learning with a commitment to a student‑centred approach to the learning process. You should have an awareness and understanding of current developments in the subject area, the ability to manage student progress and achievement, and have a high level of organisational and administrative skills. You should have the ability to set and achieve high standards for yourself, colleagues, and students.
You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
Hours: Between full time and 0.5 fte – We will always try to accommodate the preference of the best candidate(s).
Salary: Paid on the Sixth Form College’s Salary Structure pro to £33,465 to £51,714 per annum (dependent upon experience). For an outstanding candidate the college will consider a ‘golden hello’ recruitment payment.
