What you will be doing:

The Tax Advisor will lead Pillar 2 reporting and compliance and support corporate income tax accounting and reporting for all legal entities across Europe and MEISA. This role is part of the Centre of Excellence Tax Accounting & Reporting team and reports to the Manager Tax Reporting based in the Netherlands. As a member of the FedEx Tax team, you will collaborate with a global network of tax professionals and subject matter experts in areas such as transfer pricing, indirect taxes, M&A, and business advisory.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Pillar 2 Reporting & Compliance
    • Manage quarterly US GAAP Pillar 2 tax provisioning for Europe and MEISA.
    • Support local Pillar 2 compliance processes and monitor developments.
    • Assess Pillar 2 implications of broader business decisions.
  • Tax Accounting & Reporting
    • Support timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provisions, including return‑to‑provision exercises for the region.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional tax, CIT compliance, corporate accounting, and US‑based global tax accounting teams.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring alignment on tax reporting requirements and compliance obligations.
  • Process & Risk Management
    • Drive improvements in internal controls, focusing on risk mitigation, process efficiency, and data integrity.
  • Global initiatives and technology
    • Provide input and support for global tax projects and initiatives.
    • Stay informed on technology developments and contribute to FedEx’s Global Tax Technology Strategy.
What do you bring with you:
  • Degree in tax / tax law / economics / accounting.
  • Experience working in an accounting / tax accounting team with exposure to quarterly reporting and closing processes.
  • Experience in and a working knowledge of tax accounting under US GAAP (or IFRS) is preferable.
  • Basic understanding of Pillar 2 reporting requirements; prior experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English; proficiency in another language is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills, flexibility, innovative thinking, ability to work independently and exposure to dealing with senior management.
