United Utilities is looking for a Streetworks Assurance Manager to drive compliance with NRSWA, TMA and all associated streetworks legislation. You’ll oversee day‑to‑day streetworks activities, guide our teams, and act as the key link between our operational needs and our statutory obligations.

This is a role for someone who thrives on influencing best practice, managing stakeholders and reducing financial and reputational risk across a major FTSE 100 utility.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee permitting, S81s, cost‑of‑failure, damage claims and all streetworks transactions
  • Lead Stakeholder Managers to improve compliance and minimise risk
  • Act as UU’s technical expert and focal point for all streetworks legislation
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, partners, Highways Authorities and industry bodies
  • Represent UU at NWHAUC, NJUG and other regional/national forums
  • Share key updates from utilities, highways and trade organisations across the business
  • Support the introduction of new legislation, systems, materials and working methods
  • Help develop and review policies and procedures
  • Deputise for the Street Works Assurance & Compliance Manager / Head of Street Works when required
  • Monitor compliance performance and identify technical improvements
  • Lead benchmarking, business improvement initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration
