A regional NHS foundation trust is seeking a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse to join their inpatient services at Kentmere Ward. This role involves delivering compassionate mental health care and support to patients in a 12-bed unit, focusing on recovery and community reintegration. The ideal candidate will be an NMC-registered mental health nurse with experience in the field, capable of working within a multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient well-being and quality of life.
It is an exciting time to join us at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse to join our inpatient services at Kentmere Ward, located at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal. This 12‑beded mental health unit offers short‑term recovery‑based care designed to meet the needs of individuals with mental health issues, enabling people to return to their communities and regain independence.
We seek caring, empathetic, and enthusiastic professionals who are passionate about improving patients’ lives. The role involves providing care and support for patients who require mental health interventions, guidance, or monitoring.
Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to develop person‑centred holistic care and maintain patients’ quality of life while assessing them for appropriate community placements. Responsibilities include day‑to‑day ward management, teaching and supervising junior staff, and supporting the named nurse model. Shift work, including occasional nights, is required on a rotational basis.
