A professional football club in Birmingham is seeking a qualified Sports Psychologist to develop and manage a Football Performance Psychology Programme for their Women’s First Team players. The ideal candidate will have a MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology, relevant accreditations, and experience in elite sport. Responsibilities include providing psychological support, collaborating with team staff, and conducting player development interventions. Strong communication skills and a full UK driving license are required. This role may involve evenings, weekends, and matchdays.

Working as a Sports Psychologist, you will devise, implement and manage a Football Performance Psychology Programme to provide the ideal environment and support to enable our Women’s First Team Players to reach their maximum potential. You will work closely with the Women’s First Team players at the various stages through their journey including emerging talent, injury and loans.
Working with the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you will work closely with the Head of Women’s Performance, Head Coach, and wider multi-disciplinary staff playing a vital role to develop collaborative player development strategies such as reconditioning programmes and management of injured players. You will be responsible for providing feedback to staff in relation to their work as well as their development of the players.

You must have demonstrable experience of working within elite level sport, delivering effective performance psychology interventions and a strong understanding of expectations and potential challenges of Women’s elite players.
Utilising excellent communication skills which are clear, accurate and engaging, you must have the ability to build rapport and strong professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Given the nature of this role, you will need to hold a full, UK driving licence and be able to work including evenings, weekends and matchdays in line with the team’s schedule.
