Humble Grape is a growing, independent wine bar and restaurant group, known for seasonal, sustainable cooking made entirely from scratch. As we continue to open new venues across London, we remain focused on quality, organic produce, zero-waste practices, and thoughtful food designed to pair beautifully with wine.

We’re looking for an ambitious, hands-on Sous Chef to join our kitchens. You’ll work in a small, close-knit team, with real responsibility, creative input, and clear opportunities to grow as the business expands.

The Role

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will:

  • Cook and deliver modern, seasonal dishes with a strong sustainability focus
  • Contribute to menu development and day-to-day kitchen operations
  • Work within a small team, requiring flexibility, communication, and teamwork
  • Lead by example during service, maintaining consistently high standards
  • Train, support, and motivate junior chefs
  • Champion our zero-waste, nose-to-tail cooking ethos
About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience as a Sous Chef, or is a strong CDP ready to step up
  • Enjoys working in a smaller kitchen environment where everyone is hands‑on
  • Is ambitious and excited by the opportunity to progress as the company grows
  • Is passionate about fresh, seasonal, and sustainable food
  • Brings a calm, positive, and collaborative leadership style
What We Offer
  • Genuine career progression as we open new venues (many of our Head Chefs started as Sous)
  • A creative, produce‑led kitchen where chef input is valued
  • Weekly wine training with our WSET‑qualified team
  • 50% staff discount across all venues
  • Cycle to Work scheme, supplier trips, and staff events
  • Reward & Recognition platform plus referral bonuses
  • Salary: £40,000 – £43,000

This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who wants to be part of a growing business, thrive in a small team, and build a long‑term career with Humble Grape.
