Job description

Collinson is the global, privately‑owned company dedicated to helping the world travel with ease and confidence. The group offers a unique blend of industry and sector specialists who together provide market‑leading airport experiences, loyalty and customer engagement, and insurance solutions for over 400 million consumers.

Collinson is the operator of Priority Pass, the world’s original and leading airport experiences programme. Travellers can access a network of 1,500+ lounges and travel experiences, including dining, retail, sleep and spa, in over 650 airports in 148 countries, helping to elevate the journey into something special.

We have been bringing innovation to the market since inception – from launching the first independent global VIP lounge access programme, Priority Pass, to being the first to sell direct travel insurance in the UK through Columbus Direct and creating the first loyalty agency of its kind in the travel sector with ICLP. Today we still invest heavily in innovation to ensure that we continue to deliver superior customer experiences.

Key clients include Mastercard, American Express, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, LATAM, Flying Blue, Accor, EasyJet, HSBC, Chase, HDFC.

Our mission is focused on doing good beyond profit, which for us means we seek out opportunities for our people to share in our success and that we give back to the communities and people within which we work.

Never short of ambition, the success of our business is delivered through the diverse and talented team of over 2,200 global colleagues.

ValueDynamx is seeking an experienced, highly skilled strategy consultant to guide a diverse senior leadership team — including the Group Chairman — through the development of an aligned business strategy that will serve as the foundation for a credible three‑year plan.

This is a role for a seasoned listener and objective facilitator: someone who can draw out the thinking, perspectives, and ambitions of multiple senior stakeholders; navigate differing and sometimes competing viewpoints; and transform high‑level vision statements into a clear, realistic, market‑grounded strategic plan.

We are not looking for someone to create the strategy themselves. Instead, the successful candidate will gently but confidently interrogate assumptions, uncover the underlying rationale behind leadership viewpoints, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and synthesize these into a coherent, evidence‑based roadmap. They must be able to respectfully balance the strong voice of the Chairman with the contributions of the wider team, ensuring all perspectives are heard and distilled into an aligned output.

Industry familiarity (e.g., loyalty, customer engagement, digital platforms) is beneficial to enable meaningful challenge, but deep sector bias is not desired — neutrality and clarity of thought are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the process of extracting, organising, and aligning the senior team’s collective vision into a unified business strategy.
  • Facilitate structured discussions, workshops, and interviews that encourage participation, uncover assumptions, and clarify strategic intentions.
  • Translate high‑level vision statements into actionable components: key steps, resource requirements, capabilities, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Help the team confront and reconcile differing viewpoints to ensure a cohesive and credible strategic direction.
Analysis, Interrogation & Synthesis
  • Challenge leadership assumptions using real‑world experience, market insight, and data‑driven reasoning — without imposing personal strategic bias.
  • Contextualise proposed strategies against current market conditions, competitor dynamics, and organisational realities.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and gaps that may impede delivery of the agreed strategy.
  • Produce a polished, well‑structured, and logically sound strategic plan that can be confidently shared with the corporate parent and external stakeholders (including potential financiers).
Stakeholder Management & Advisory
  • Build trust and rapport with senior leaders, acting as a thoughtful, independent advisor throughout the process.
  • Maintain a balanced and respectful dynamic with the Group Chairman, ensuring his voice is considered while enabling others to contribute fully.
  • Facilitate alignment across globally dispersed teams with varied perspectives and levels of strategic maturity.
  • Communicate complex issues in a clear, concise, and compelling way, both verbally and in writing.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting or strategic facilitation, preferably working with senior executives or boards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic discussions and extract clarity from ambiguity.
  • Exceptional listening skills and the ability to navigate power dynamics with diplomacy, confidence, and discretion.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to frame issues, interrogate assumptions, and synthesize insights into coherent narratives.
  • Proven experience delivering executive‑ready strategy documents or investment‑grade business plans.
  • Outstanding communication, storytelling, and stakeholder‑alignment skills.
  • Experience working in industries related to loyalty, customer engagement, digital platforms, travel, financial services, or retail is advantageous but not essential.
  • Comfortable balancing industry context with objectivity — able to challenge without biasing direction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with chairpersons, boards, or senior leadership teams undergoing strategic transformation.
  • Exposure to SaaS, digital platforms, customer engagement technologies, or data‑driven business models.
  • MBA or other advanced degree helpful but not required.
