Overview

We are looking for a well rounded Senior Product Designer with a desire to join the Product Design team at Chambers and Partners, helping us differentiate the best legal talent when it really matters and improving the experience for Chambers' customers.

You will join our diverse product design team. You'll work day to day in a multidisciplinary product team, partner with product managers, engineers, user research, data science and product marketing to help bring to market a new product to help us create more value for our customers as part of our transformation to become a leader in Data & Analytics.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactively identifying and addressing problems to be solved, influencing the product vision through your understanding of user needs
  • Designing simple, elegant but impactful end-to-end experiences that improve the way customers interact with Chambers and move business metrics
  • Partnering with PMs, engineers, data teams, other designers and stakeholders across the company to deliver products and features from conception to launch - owning and leading the ideation, design and validation phases
  • Communicating conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and rationales verbally and visually to a variety of audiences (team members, stakeholders, execs and company-wide)
  • Owning the success or failure of your design work, autonomously validating your design solutions qualitatively and quantitatively, measuring success and initiating improvements
  • Constantly seeking and respectfully providing design feedback
  • Exploring how to best represent insights and visualise data in a way that helps our audience understand the information, but also helps position our offering as an enabler of Data & Analytics
  • Contributing to the growth of the product design function at Chambers by sharing knowledge, being a team player and a role model
  • Actively helping to shape and evolve Chambers design system & overall design operations
Skills and Experience
  • Capabilities across the product design spectrum - from Service Design to UX strategy, Information Architecture, UI design, Content Design and User Research. Of course, everyone is different – we expect you to be stronger in some areas than others.
  • Demonstrable experience working cross-functionally across the entire product development cycle, from ideation to implementation and iteration.
  • You can identify problems and opportunities, your favourite question is “why?”. You use quantitative and qualitative insights as well as customers and internal teams interviews to inform a problem space, prove or disprove hypotheses and evaluate user experience
  • You have experience facilitating the creation of a shared vision and approach for new product and features, creating alignment and driving projects to completion
  • You are comfortable communicating internally, up, out and down to gather feedback and onboard others in your design approach
  • You have contributed to the creation, maintenance and evolution of a design system
Person Specification
  • You are self-aware and able to collaborate cross-functionally, functionally, across teams and departments, caring to build trust and long-lasting relationships
  • You are motivated by goals and outcomes, staying focused on the big picture while giving care to the details when necessary
  • You iterate quickly, you seek, uncover and utilise data and user research to ensure you’re on the right path towards your goal
  • You are a great communicator of design work and your rationales behind proposals, you empathise with your audience and adapt your communication style to them. You frame problems and solutions in a way that onboards others and guide your product team to deliver impactful work
  • You are a facilitator, you use different facilitation techniques to gather different point of views and requirements, collaboratively ideate and create alignment
  • You are always looking to improve yourself and to lift up others around you
  • You help champion design thinking within your product team, the product design team and the broader organisation
  • You work humbly and kindly, aren’t afraid to make mistakes and learn from them
