Are you a driven Process Development Scientist ready to take the lead on innovative vaccine technology?

Smart4Sciences are supporting an exciting and fast-growing pharmaceutical organisation – is looking for a Senior Process Development Scientist to support the development and optimisation of their pioneering solid-dose vaccine platform. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of key laboratory programmes, contribute to technology transfer activities, and help shape the future of scalable vaccine manufacturing.

The Role
  • Lead, plan, and execute laboratory-based process development work to build a robust, scalable manufacturing process.
  • Record, analyse, and report your scientific findings with precision, delivering protocols, technical documentation, and progress updates.
  • Support internal and external batch manufacturing, coordinating cross-functional activities to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Play a key role in technology transfer to CDMO partners, including work at third‑party sites when required.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior scientists, promoting scientific excellence and best practice.
  • Keep up to date with emerging scientific literature and leverage new insights thoughtfully, including IP considerations.
  • Maintain traceable documentation within a quality-focused environment and champion safe laboratory practices.
About You
  • A BSc/BEng (or higher) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Strong experience in solid-dose pharmaceutical process development or manufacturing.
  • At least three years' hands‑on laboratory experience within an R&D setting.
  • Familiarity with GMP and product quality requirements (advantageous).
  • Practical experience in powder blending, tabletting and/or technology transfer (highly desirable).
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.
