Senior Cost Manager / QS - Health

Role description
  • Work as part of, and manage a team alongside members of the Cost & Commercial Management Career family to manage and deliver projects.
  • Liaise with external contractors and consultants.
  • Report to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage the delivery of cost management in a mix of small / medium sized Health / Education / Laboratory developments or significant components of larger cost management assignments.
  • Deliver scope of work in line with controls and apply significant technical knowledge and experience in the field.
Role accountabilities
  • Coaching and developing other team members to share knowledge, increase skill level and improve service delivery standard.
  • Use established financial systems and budgets to produce reports, forecasts and track budgets, overseeing costing and variances to manage and control cost variables.
  • Deliver a portfolio of cost projects and assignments or significant components of larger assignments, ensuring appropriate use of resources and budgets to meet deadlines.
  • Provide risk management, compliance and behavioural advice to colleagues to ensure adherence to Arcadis’ processes.
  • Present project risks or issues to senior managers to prevent adverse impact.
  • Evaluate and review data and documents to collate key themes and trends, using this analysis with own knowledge to advise and support decision‑making.
  • Analyse existing processes and policies using industry best practice to recommend improvements.
  • Share knowledge and provide insightful recommendations to support service improvement and innovation.
  • Interact across the organisation to support collaboration with the cost management function and apply technical knowledge to ensure cost expectations are met.
  • Provide specialist technical advice to senior management on cost/commercial management issues and share solutions to support delivery.
  • Manage relationships and collaborate with clients and external stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction and creating new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of clients’ key objectives within the appropriate sector.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Health Sector Experience desirable.
  • Experience on ProCure 22 / ProCure 23 projects or other routes to market for capital works.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues and emerging leadership.
  • Experience working closely with external stakeholders to build client relationships.
  • Experience managing business relationships at middle‑management level.
  • Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualification or chartered status.
  • CSCS card holder.
