THE ROLE
We are seeking a Boutique Assistant Manager to support the Boutique Manager in overseeing daily operations, delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales, assisting with staff management, and upholding the overall aesthetic and functionality of the boutique.
You will hold a key role within our fast-growing business, where you will act as an ambassador for the brand, managing the daily operations of the store and ensuring all customers receive the best experience.
Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position based in London. Working 5 shifts a week on a rotating shift pattern, equating to 40 hours over a 7-day week. Candidate must be fully flexible to include evenings and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent and embody Strathberry’s core values across all interactions and customer touchpoints.
- Act as a secondary point of contact for retail-related queries in-store, providing a supportive and knowledgeable presence.
- Maintain an active floor presence alongside the Boutique Manager, setting the example for customer service and professionalism.
- Support the Boutique Manager in monitoring store sales, KPIs, and performance targets weekly, identifying underperforming areas and implementing adjustments in collaboration with the team.
- Attend weekly and monthly retail meetings with the Boutique Manager to contribute insights on market trends, competitor activity, and performance updates.
- Assist the Boutique Manager in developing a high-performing team, promoting a culture of development, excellence, and information sharing.
- Participate in performance development reviews, probationary assessments, and goal setting for team members, supporting professional growth aligned with individual and company objectives.
- Help manage rotas to ensure optimised staffing, support adherence to the staffing budget, and coordinate schedules in collaboration with the Retail Operations Manager.
- Record and approve team absences, managing cover as required, and escalate issues to the Boutique Manager as needed.
- Assist in recruitment processes, including CV screening and interviews, in collaboration with HR and the Boutique Manager.
Relationship Management
- Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, understanding the needs and priorities of both the business and its partners.
- Collaborate with departments such as wholesale, marketing, and finance as needed, providing support for events, press days, and other promotional activities.
- Build local relationships with tour guides, hotels, and other entities to increase store traffic and brand exposure.
Inventory Management
- Support end-of-year inventory audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and collaborate with the Boutique Manager and finance on any discrepancies.
- Help with stock management, providing feedback to the merchandising team to improve stock allocations and range planning.
- Uphold visual standards, ensuring displays are maintained to a high standard and drive customer engagement.
Marketing & Brand Management
- Actively contribute to monthly retail meetings, sharing insights on local market activity and store strategy to inform the brand’s marketing efforts.
- Propose and assist with the execution of local events, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure a successful outcome, and communicate post-event feedback for continuous improvement.
Operations & P&L
- Assist in managing store expenses, including payroll, supplies, and other operational costs, maintaining efficiency and budget alignment.
- Work with the Boutique Manager to optimise retail operations, identify areas for process improvement, and communicate ideas to the Retail Operations Manager.
- Uphold company policies, including cash handling, banking procedures, and store administration.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of innovation, information sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices relevant to retail, contributing new ideas to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
