Purpose of the role

Are you a warm and chatty person, who’s also a good listener? As a befriender, you will provide companionship to our resident by meeting together regularly for a cup of tea and chat. We ask that you are able to communicate confidently in Punjabi in order to engage in conversations together.
Our resident also enjoys knitting and taking part in arts activities, we are looking for a volunteer who also enjoys knitting and crafts and will be able to spend time with our resident.
As a volunteer with Creative Support we offer training for your role, access to a volunteer supervisor, an induction, a monthly volunteer newsletter, and an online volunteer support network group on Zoom.

Volunteer Duties

• ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਸੁਪਰਵਾਈਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਯਮਤ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਵੋ।
• Meet on a regular basis
• Follow safeguarding procedures, and report any concerns
• Develop a friendship and enjoy conversations together whilst respecting boundaries.
• Complete any training provided
• Attend regular volunteer supervisions with your volunteer supervisor.
