The Role

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Product Manager / Product Owner to join our team in Belfast, driving the strategic evolution and delivery of our reference data solutions portfolio — including Xmon (cost & usage monitoring) and Submarine (data caching). This is a hybrid role, uniquely positioned at the intersection of strategic product management and hands‑on product ownership. You will be responsible for shaping the long‑term vision and roadmap for multiple products while ensuring successful day‑to‑day execution within agile development teams. The ideal candidate will thrive in both spaces — able to think strategically about the bigger picture, to define market direction and dive deep into user stories, acceptance criteria, and release details. You will act as the bridge between customers, business stakeholders, and development teams, translating market insight into actionable product features that deliver measurable value in the fast‑moving world of financial data technology.

Responsibilities
Strategic & Tactical Product Leadership
  • Balance strategic vision with hands‑on delivery across multiple products in the reference data solutions portfolio.
  • Define product roadmaps and priorities informed by customer needs, market trends, and business goals.
  • Translate complex requirements into clear, actionable development plans.
  • Identify opportunities for alignment and shared capabilities across products to drive efficient portfolio growth.
Feature Definition & Requirements
  • Define and prioritize features based on customer insights and market analysis.
  • Develop user stories and acceptance criteria that communicate business value.
  • Partner with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive user experiences.
  • Maintain and refine the product backlog to focus on high‑impact features.
Customer & Market Insight
  • Conduct customer research and interviews to validate product direction and ensure product‑market fit.
  • Analyze usage patterns and feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success to understand implementation challenges and refine solutions.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to guide roadmap decisions.
Agile Delivery & Execution
  • Serve as Product Owner for agile teams, leading sprint planning and backlog prioritization.
  • Provide clear context and customer perspective to development teams.
  • Review completed work to ensure alignment with goals and quality standards.
  • Adjust plans and priorities in response to evolving business and customer needs.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Sales on prospect requirements and competitive positioning.
  • Work with Marketing on go‑to‑market messaging and feature launches.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to assess feasibility and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success and Support to ensure adoption and client satisfaction.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner, preferably in financial technology or data‑driven products.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery in an agile environment.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
  • Proficiency with product management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
  • Strong data analysis capabilities (SQL, Excel, or analytics platforms).
  • Understanding of API integrations, data workflows, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
  • Background in financial markets and reference data management.
  • Experience with market data vendors (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, etc.).
  • Understanding of cost optimization and data analytics solutions.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Data License or similar services.
