Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a Procurement Supervisor based at our Llanybydder Site. The role involves supervising the Site Procurement Team to support livestock procurement from suppliers, ensuring a consistent raw material supply for production.

Responsibilities

General Duties:

  • Supervise procurement personnel activities.
  • Maximise lamb procurement for the site.
  • Monitor market competitors and analyse potential impacts, reporting findings to relevant personnel.
  • Ensure production requirements are communicated and met.
  • Manage livestock numbers for overnight lairaging.
  • Maintain effective communication regarding buying prices, grids, and other updates with Field Officers, Agents, and the Group Procurement Manager.
  • Ensure product quality specifications are fully met.
  • Coordinate with producers regarding production days and factory needs.
  • Handle producer complaints, investigate, and communicate results appropriately.
  • Carry out livestock procurement in accordance with Group Procedures.
  • Ensure livestock are delivered using appropriate haulage methods compliant with welfare codes and legislation.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent in Sales, Marketing, or a Business-related discipline.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience in developing customer relations.
  • Proficient in IT skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexible to travel as required.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
