Overview

RSE’s Asset Management & Technical Services business platform is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join on a permanent basis and support projects across England. The role will lead design from scoping through to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards, with a focus on low‑carbon solutions.

Key Duties

• Oversee design aspects of projects from inception to implementation.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards.
• Develop design deliverables.
• Complete checking and approval processes.
• Prepare work scope estimates/quotations.
• Assemble contract works information documents.
• Consider project health, safety, quality, and environmental matters.
• Liaise with all key stakeholders.
• Implement project change control and programme requirements.
• Lead as Design Lead on allocated projects.

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in municipal water/wastewater mechanical design highly desirable.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary design team.
• Experience across all design stages highly desirable.
• Design management experience highly desirable.
• Ability to work on multiple projects consecutively.
• Full UK driving licence.
