Join us as Principal Mechanical Design Engineer at Joloda Hydraroll.

As part of our global team from Liverpool, you will lead complex mechanical design projects for automated and manual loading systems, ensuring quality, safety, and innovation. You will mentor junior engineers, standardise design systems, and shape the future of automation.

Base pay range

£35,000 to £55,000 per annum

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead mechanical design of automated and manual loading systems from concept to production
• Oversee detailed design, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and CE standards
• Mentor and guide junior design engineers, embedding best practices
• Standardise and optimise designs through continuous improvement and value engineering
• Provide technical support and analysis for root cause investigations and design improvementsCollaborate with cross‑functional teams globally to align projects with company strategy
• Support implementation of DriveWorks and structured design systems

What You’ll Bring

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally in manufacturing, automation, or industrial machinery
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a creative, solutions‑focused approach
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor and influence others
• Commitment to environmental and safety standards
• Desirable: Experience with DriveWorks or similar design automation tools
