We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Higher Level Medicines Management who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Why not join our team of Clinical Pharmacists, Medicines Management Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants to gain experience in ward-based medicines management.

The Pharmacy department is looking to recruit an experienced pharmacy technician who wants to extend their knowledge and skills, while working as a Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician on the wards.

You must be an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician or working towards it. You will have an enthusiastic approach to education and training, multidisciplinary team working and a passion for frontline patient care. Full training will be provided on medicines reconciliation and other in house procedures.

The working pattern includes a weekly late night until 6:30, 1 in 8 weekends as per the rota and 1 bank holiday per year.

Main duties of the job

The Pharmacy Technician will participate and assist in the development of the medicines management process on designated wards within the hospital.

Train other technicians, pharmacists, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in the medicines management process.

To carry out general dispensing, drug distribution and associated pharmaceutical duties for the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.

You will help with the training of technicians, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians, pre-registration pharmacists and assistants, junior pharmacists, nursing staff and other health care professionals in the medicines management process.

To act as an NVQ assessor for Pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers (if appropriate).

  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and BTEC in Pharmaceutical science or equivalent
