About The Role

Clients in the Pressure Equipment and Pressure Equipment Assemblies sectors depend on LRQA to effectively audit their management systems and provide assurance of business‑critical compliance and risk management, using EU Directives such as the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU. As a Lead Auditor with LRQA you will—alone or in a team—verify management systems across EU Directives and UK Regulations covering a wide spectrum of standards, as well as broaden your professional horizons. You will act as an expert and examine and assess the implementation of management systems for our clients around the country. You will undertake risk‑focused audits and make certification decisions yourself, guiding and developing other auditors, cultivating positive client relationships and proactively sharing feedback to improve service delivery. The role offers a healthy blend of travel and remote audits, and provides challenges and diverse people and technical issues.

Job Requirements
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience
  • Recent third‑party auditing of management systems, preferably with another certification body
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor experience
  • Experience undertaking Management System Audits for EC Directives such as the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive 2010/35/EU
  • Able to understand codes, standards, specifications and procedures
  • Welding knowledge desirable
  • Understanding of how to manage client relationships
  • Good communication and decision‑making skills; deliver clear audit outcomes
  • Complete audit reports effectively and efficiently
  • Preparedness to travel when necessary
  • Flexible and proactive attitude
