A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join the Outpatient department at Prince Charles Hospital. This role requires a strong interest in outpatient nursing, essential skills in wound care, and the ability to work flexibly across a week. The position involves facilitating clinics, supporting staff training, and managing the area in the absence of the department manager. Main Outpatients facilitates a wide range of Consultant, Nurse lead clinics and visiting specialities. The successful candidate must have an interest in Outpatient Nursing, work well independently and as part of a team, embrace the core values of the health board and a willingness to learn and improve services for patients.
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; while the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. The skills of wound care are important and required for this role. An interest in working alongside the consultant in dermatology minor surgery is advantageous. The successful applicant will be required to facilitate clinics independently, carry out clinical procedures such as bladder scanning, supervise junior staff, support Student Nurses on placement, and in the absence of the Department Manager, manage the Outpatient area. Staff are required to undertake Mandatory training and E‑learning, actively participate in PADR and are supported in achieving Revalidation. The successful candidate is requested to actively participate and encourage Departmental learning and development. Main Outpatients operates Monday to Friday, and it is important that the successful candidate is flexible over the 5‑day period to meet the needs of the service.
