Job summary

A safety-focused utility provider in Weymouth is looking for an Operations Team Manager to oversee operational activities and lead a team of employees and contractors. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the gas industry and relevant health and safety legislation. This full-time role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a full UK Driving License. Competitive salary ranging from £44.4k to £55.5k per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Managing operational activities within budget allocations.
  • Managing both SGN employees and contractors across all the range of operational activities, including the Emergency, Repair, Replacement, Connections & Competency processes.
  • Providing a safe, efficient and effective service to all of our customers.
  • Managing performance, delivering improvements in performance by embracing innovation and challenging the norm.
What you’ll need
  • An extensive knowledge of the gas industry, legislation, and related health and safety policies and procedures is essential.
  • Highly motivated with a flexible and positive approach to work.
  • Good leadership, organisational, diagnostic and problem-solving skills and be able to act on your own initiative.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, within and beyond your own team.
  • Committed to safety and to providing coaching & leadership.
  • Be prepared to do extra to support colleagues during high workloads and incidents.
  • Be prepared to be mainly field based out on-site driving team performance
  • A full clean UK Driving License is essential for this role
