Here at GXO, we’re looking for an Oceans Export Supervisor to play a key role in our 4PL Control Tower, managing complex, multi-modal transport operations and ensuring service excellence for a nominated customer account.

This is a full-time permanent position. Based on our British Salt contract working from our transport control tower in Nottingham. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 09:00 till 17:00. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £37,500 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). A company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and death in service.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Control Tower team, ensuring smooth execution of international transport schedules.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer issue resolution, handling queries and complaints professionally.
  • Monitor financial performance and prepare monthly KPI reports for customer review meetings.
  • Coordinate with carriers and service providers across road, ocean, and air freight to maintain cost-effective and compliant operations.
  • Drive process improvements and support customer-specific projects to enhance service delivery.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • Proven experience managing and developing a team within a logistics or transport environment.
  • Strong background in international transport operations, with ocean export experience essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with logistics systems such as TMS, WMS, SAP.
