# Minor Injury Unit Nurse(UK Visa Sponsorship)### Job Description## Role OverviewAneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse with triage expertise to join the nurse-led Minor Injury Units at Royal Gwent Hospital and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr.This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in fast-paced clinical environments and enjoy autonomous decision-making. You will play a key role in the initial assessment and safe streaming of patients, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate care. Nurses with ambitions to progress into an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) role are strongly encouraged to apply, as many of our senior triage nurses have followed this development pathway.Applicants must be able to work across both hospital sites and hold a valid Manchester Triage Certificate.### Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Triage Nurse in the Minor Injury Unit, you will:* Conduct focused clinical assessments and prioritise patient care using recognised triage guidelines* Deliver immediate treatment where clinically required* Safely redirect patients to alternative healthcare services when their needs fall outside the scope of the unit* Discharge patients in line with agreed clinical protocols* Communicate effectively with patients and families, including providing reassurance and health education* Manage and support patients within the waiting area* Liaise closely with Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) and escalate concerns appropriately* Support patients requiring inter-hospital transfer* Provide a range of minor injury treatments and care* Contribute to the training, supervision, and development of colleagues* Practice at all times in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct#### Career Development OpportunitiesThis role offers a clear pathway for nurses wishing to progress into advanced emergency care roles, including Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP).
