In this role, as part of the Medical Director Directorate, you will provide administration support to the Medical Education Team in order that the local provision of education and training for all medical staff is to the standard required by the regulatory bodies including the General Medical Council, Health Education England North East, Royal Colleges and Higher Education Institutions.
Main duties of the job
- Administrative support to the Medical Education team
- Effectively use Word, Excel, Outlook etc. generating graphs, charts, diagrams and reports as and when required
- To provide admin support to ensure effective implementation of the administration of the Foundation Programme curriculum for all F1 and F2 doctors in training.
- To assist with the administration support to the annual Shadowing and Induction Programme and ARCP assessment panels as directed by senior members of the Medical Education Team
- To assist with the collection and collation of data as and when required e.g. trainee numbers, teaching hours, teaching attendance, satisfaction and delivery
- Assist with the reports on evaluation of teaching feedback.
- Assist with the production of feedback summaries from postgraduate and undergraduate teaching sessions for the Consultant, Junior Doctors and other healthcare professionals including calculating percentage response rates.
- Assist with monthly Doctors in Training induction
- Assist the medical education coordinators in delivery of Undergraduate, Foundation and Postgraduate education administration.
- Assist with the processing of study leave requests for all senior medical staff.
- Assist with the delivery and organisation of all the educational activities within the department.

Person Specification
- Educated to NVQ 3 level or equivalent. Good basic education to GCSE level (including English and Maths).
- Qualification in information technology ie ECDL or equivalent experience
- Experience of delivering high quality, customer focused services, including dealing with complex queries and managing difficult customers
- Experience of working within a busy administrative environment
- Experience of positively managing own workload and actively contributing to team activities
- Experience and a high level of competence of IT skills, including use of software (Microsoft Office packages), internet applications and a range of information resources
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) including an ability to communicate at all levels professionally and courteously using tact and diplomacy
- Excellent organisational, time management and prioritising skills, including the ability to manage a high workload and work under pressure with minimum supervision
- Ability to work as part of a team, sharing information and supporting team decisions
- Experience of working within an educational environment or a workforce development structure
