Manual Machinist - Aerospace | Precision Engineering

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high-precision, quality-driven environment where your skills will directly contribute to the production of critical aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities - Manual Machinist
  • Set up and operate manual machine tools including Jig Bores, lathes, and milling machines
  • Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Manufacture and rework components to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes
  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision instruments (micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges, DTI's)
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and toolsAccurately complete production and quality documentation
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure compliance with design and customer requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or Toolmaker in a precision engineering or aerospace setting
  • Skilled in machining a variety of materials and castings
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred)
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools and maintaining accurate records
  • High attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
  • Flexible, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
