Manager - Logistics & Material Planning role at Héroux-Devtek

Héroux-Devtek, the world’s 3rd largest producer of landing gear, serves the civil and military aerospace markets from production facilities in North America, Europe and United Kingdom. The Company’s longevity, flexibility, and track record for the development and implementation of innovative production systems have distinguished it as a leader in the domain. With its most recent acquisitions, Héroux-Devtek is bolstering its status as one of the foremost landing gear, actuation and hydraulic system designers and manufacturers in the global aerospace industry.

Nottingham landing gear operations span a 48,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated to the manufacture of small to medium landing gear components. The site is recognised as the UK Technical Centre of Excellence and specialises in precision machining of aluminium, titanium, and hardened steels, equipped with advanced technologies to drive ongoing business growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all Health and Safety rules and regulations are followed, and all direct reports are aware and updated as appropriate and in line with H&SE Management.
  • Develop a flexible, appropriately trained team able to respond to fluctuating workload demands, including staff appraisals and associated staff development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate sections of the Quality Manual and ensure compliance to all processes and procedures; ensure staff are trained in procedures, standard operations, and work instructions. Manage audits (internal and external) as required.
  • Manage the retention, update and control of all departmental documentation ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Work in partnership with the Operations Team and other departments to ensure objectives and goals are consistently met.
  • Maintain the accuracy of IT systems to provide accurate data via the ERP (e.g., LN, Preactor, QuickView).
  • Responsible for the MPS review and workload capacity analyses.
  • Manage special transport costs ensuring budget and service targets are met.
  • Responsible for sourcing, supply and purchasing for the shopfloor.
  • Responsible for goods-in and despatch Department.
  • Ensure the Program Management (customer facing, LOB, quote, CCW, contract review, order book management) for direct customers in liaison with Runcorn Program Management’s team.
  • Respond to queries from internal and external suppliers regarding goods receiving and supplier invoicing, taking action to resolve issues as they occur.
  • Actively contribute to development of control processes to ensure short-, medium- and long-term visibility and management of issues in Production.
  • Support supplier invoice queries as appropriate.
  • Support and contribute to any improvement activities.
  • Contribute to the development of effective KPI's and publish.
  • Contribute as appropriate to the Material Review Board.
