Pay & Hours

Apprentice salary: £14,566 for the first year.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.

Location

Primary base at Redditch campus; may be required to travel to other campuses.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in monthly management accounts production.
  • Process banking and online transactions daily.
  • Contribute to budgeting and ad‑hoc reconciliations.
  • Distribute and manage outgoing and incoming mail.
  • Support distribution of reports and other information.
  • Maintain manual and computer‑based filing systems.
  • Carry out month‑end and year‑end financial procedures as instructed.
  • Assist with duties assigned by the Head of Finance, Vice Principal or Senior Payments Assistant.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Current or most recent employer reference.
  • Qualification validation check: essential qualifications for the post will be followed up.
  • Minimum level 2 qualification in Maths and English (obtainable during employment if missing).
Training & Development
  • Expected to complete mandatory corporate induction and a range of safeguarding, GDPR, health & safety, and equality & diversity sessions within the probationary period.

  • Regular Continuing Professional Development and agile‑flexible working (dependent on role).
Conditions of Service
  • Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (cost deducted from first salary).
  • 2 references (one from most recent employer).
  • Minimum of 6 months probationary period.
  • Participation in the College’s Performance Management Scheme.
Salary & Pay Progression
  • £14,566 for the first year.
  • Salary increases annually within the £14,566‑£19,292 band after probation.
Annual Leave
  • 25 days + 8 public holidays + 5 concessionary days.
  • After 2 years continuous service: 30 days.
