A prominent care provider in Huddersfield seeks a Maintenance Assistant to ensure a safe and healthy environment for individuals in their care. You’ll handle various tasks, from basic joinery to plumbing and painting, all aimed at supporting community rehabilitation services. The ideal candidate is skilled in maintenance, holds a Level 2 Diploma in Painting & Decorating, and is ready to contribute positively to the team while taking advantage of career progression opportunities. We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others.
You’ll be working full time 40 hours a week (Monday to Friday 08:00am – 16:00pm) at Gledholt Mews and Coach House, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care.
Gledholt Mews and Coach House is our community rehabilitation (level 1) service for adults with mental health needs or a personality disorder who have been able to progress through the hospital pathway and are looking for the next stage in their rehabilitation journey or for those who may be stepping up from a community placement.
Located in Huddersfield just next to Greenhead College and Park, the service provides support to individuals who are ready to take responsibility for the continuation of their own rehabilitation and recovery in a safe environment, whilst living in the wider community.
Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order
Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards
Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights
Experienced in all types of painting and decorating in both indoor and outdoor environments
Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
Preferably Level 2 Diploma qualified in Painting & Decorating/Maintenance
Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude
£12.75 Per Hour
