Role: Lead DBA
Location: London
Hybrid - 3 days a week from office
Job Type: Contract
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage capacity of database management systems
- Schedule database patching for production and lower environments
- Plan and strategize backup and disaster recovery (DR) processes
- Provide audit and governance requirements
- Maintain detailed technical documentation
- Assist efforts to define database strategy, architecture, standards and procedures to preserve the integrity and security of company data resources
- Troubleshoot database problems and implement corrective measures as required
- Join the Database team as a Sr. DBA and design, implement, and maintain the systems that are instrumental to business function
- Develop skills and expand abilities by working with new systems and software
Essential Skills
- Must have knowledge of IT concepts such as DB design, DB layout, DB structures, DB stored procedures, DB tables, DB optimization, TCP/IP, IT security concepts and practices
- Expert in SQL Server with good understanding of Oracle; knowledge of Informix, DB2, MongoDB, DynamoDB and other databases
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude and ability to work with little supervision
- Ability to analyze and write business and technical specifications and interact with IT and auditor teams
- A degree in information technology/computer information systems or related
- 6+ years of work experience in database support and management
- Clear understanding of IT Operations, Software Development and Release Management using GitHub
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- GitHub, ServiceNow, Jira, MS Office, SQL, etc.
