Job summary

A leading NHS Foundation Trust in Sheffield is seeking a LAS Specialty Registrar (ST4+) in Anaesthesia. The role offers comprehensive rotations, including Cardiothoracic and Neuro-anaesthesia, with essential support from senior consultants. The successful candidate must have full GMC registration and experience in Anaesthesia. This position allows for engagement in teaching and research activities within a supportive environment. Commencement is planned for February 2026, with flexibility for a 12-month tenure and potential extension.

Job Overview

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks LAS Specialty Registrar (ST4+) in Anaesthesia. Commencement February 2026. 12‑month tenure, possible extension. Posts do not attract a National Training Number.

Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
  • Right of residence in the UK; sponsorship required if not.
  • Experience in Anaesthesia; CESR route supported.
Responsibilities

Posts are based within existing teams, with access to departmental teaching and developmental opportunities. Rotations through sub‑specialties: Cardiothoracic, Neuro‑anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, and General Anaesthesia (3‑month allocations). Expected to work with a degree of independence, senior consultant support and distant supervision at all times.

On‑call rota 1 in 8. Period of supernumerary work/local assessment may precede commencement. Basic pay applicable during that period.

Opportunities to engage in teaching, audit, research and participation in local courses for both the primary and final FRCA.
