Job description

Essential Results are delighted to be working with a Prototype Engineering business. Due to growth, they are looking for Junior Estimator.

This is a permanent role with career progression and is a full-time office‑based position.

Person Specification
  • Junior Estimator should have a background in Mechanical engineering either office or shop floor experience.
  • The Junior Estimator will have the ability to evaluate proposals from the supply chain.
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages.
  • The Junior Estimator will be able to integrate well into a team as well as work independently.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Must be able to plan and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Excellent client service focus with flexible approach to work.
  • Proactive in approach to work
Day-to-Day

Junior Estimator daily activities will include:

  • Collaborating with the sales team to prepare and deliver accurate project estimates.
  • Communicating with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and CAD models to ensure accurate cost assessments.
  • Monitoring industry trends and material costs to maintain competitive pricing.
  • Contributing to process improvements and cost-saving measures.

Working within a small and supportive team, this position would suit someone who has an engineering background and is interested in learning and progressing into a senior position. Training will be offered on the inhouse systems for the successful person.

In return the employ package includes the following;

  • 25 days leave plus statutory holidays per year.
  • 37.5 hour working week.
  • £14 – £17 /hr depending on experience.
