Role Overview
As a Project Security Manager, you will provide an excellent security assurance service to our clients and identify improvements to existing programmes and processes. The role will manage all aspects of classified project delivery across Personnel, Physical and Information Security, and serve as the focal point for security assurance activity.
Line Management
You will manage a small team of three: Security Vetting Coordinator, Information Controller, and Compliance Digital Project Manager.
Interface
You will interface regularly with internal stakeholders, including Defence and other Sector Leads, IT Infrastructure and Security Manager, and Quality Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Regular liaison with client security and project delivery teams to implement and monitor client security requirements.
- Lead the security and audit accreditation and certifications process for all external compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement governance and processes for security assurance.
- Plan and deliver assurance activities such as induction briefings, project‑specific security briefings, onboarding and security awareness training.
- Measure and assess the performance and effectiveness of security controls and implement corrective actions.
- Review the competencies of RLB’s supply chain in all security assurance domains.
- Collaborate with business areas to manage and mitigate risks to RLB and its clients.
- Develop and mature RLB’s Security Management System.
- Support investigations for all security incidents within your sector.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- SC clearance or the ability to acquire it.
- Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
Experience
- Experience as a security manager or security controller.
- Knowledge of HMG/MOD security framework, policy and controls (CE+, DefStan, NIST).
- Familiarity with FSC, IPSA, ISO27001.
- Knowledge of risk management methodologies and practical experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
