Job description
Flexible Ice Skating Coach

UK’s largest public leisure provider is looking for Flexible Ice‑Skating Coaches for our Learn to Skate programme at Lee Valley Ice Centre in East London.

As an Ice Skating Coach, you’ll teach skating skills to all participants ranging from non‑skaters to those more experienced in line with the code of practice. You’ll set up the equipment for each session plus carry out inspections and undertake maintenance and repair activities.

You’ll thrive on seeing people learn, improve and even face their fears over skating – whatever their age or background. You should have experience of delivering the NISA 1‑8 Skate UK program or have working knowledge of it and hold your NISA Level 2 qualification. Flexibility, punctuality and reliability are just as important as integrity, a can‑do attitude and a real focus on customer service. Passion and personality will stand you in good stead too.

We are an inclusive employer. We seek and welcome diversity in our teams.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you’d expect from the UK’s largest leisure provider:

  • Pension schemes
  • Discounted membership at our leisure centres
  • Career pathways
  • Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you have the passion and skills for this role, apply now.

The welfare and safety of the children in our care is of the utmost importance to us at GLL. We follow safer recruitment procedures to ensure that our staff are checked and appropriate to work with children and young people. Therefore we’ll require you to complete an enhanced DBS check before you will be allowed to start work.
