Job summary

A reputable health and social care organization is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a six-month fixed-term contract in Southend-on-Sea. The successful candidate will work full-time to support HR processes, provide guidance on employee relations, and assist in the development of HR policies. A strong background in UK employment law and experience in health and social care is essential for this role, along with excellent communication skills. Salary is £32,146 pro-rata.

Position Overview

Experienced HR Advisor required for a six‑month fixed‑term contract (full‑time, Monday‑Friday, office based) in스트 Southend‑on‑Sea, Essex. Salary £32,146 (pro‑rate). Must be available at short notice. Full DBS=Nrequired. The role is in the health and social care sector and is responsible for supporting people‑related processes that advance the company’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work proactively with managers onNaj: employment areas such as HR policy, best practice, wellbeing, flexible working and absence management.
  • Provide training, coaching and advice to line managers, ensuring procedures for discipline, grievance, performance and other cases are followed in a consistent and fair manner.
  • Assist managers in controlling absence and advise on appropriate action plans for both short‑ and long‑term absence issues, including referrals to occupational health and employee assistance programmes.
  • Provide advice and support on pay and conditions, and HR policies and processes to employees and line managers.
  • Contribute to HR policy and guidance writing to ensure the organisation is legally compliant and aligned with its vision.
  • Draft letters, contracts and reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to agreed timescales.
  • Support the Director of Corporate Services in deliveringOwners strategic projects such as wellbeing initiatives, learning and development, reward strategy, and employee engagement (e.g. staff forums).
  • Support尔the Director of Corporate Services on change management projects including TUPE, restructuring and redundancies.
  • Ensure the case‑management system is kept up to date, providing accurate management information and trend analysis to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Liaise with the payroll provider regarding new starters, leavers and other employment changes to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Keep up to date with legislative and employment law changes that may impact HR or recruitment processes.
  • Recruitment
    • Provide guidance and support to the HR Assistant to ensure recruitment and HR processes are aligned.
    • Support the HR Assistant with external and internal recruitment including issuing contracts of employment, pre‑employment checks and other relevant correspondence.
    • Support candidate work experience programmes and volunteer recruitment.
    Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities
    • Previous experience as an HR Advisor in a generalist roleвари
    • Experience providing HR advice, guidance on complex employee‑relations issues and developing & implementing HR policies.
    • Up-to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and experience with TUPE transfers.
    • Ability to handle sensitive, emotional and contentious issues appropriately.
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and competent IT and email usage.
    • Experience working in health and social care/regulated sector.
