Responsibilities
  • To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the home.
  • To implement safe working procedures and practices in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and the COSHH policy and procedures.
  • To routinely clean rooms including furniture fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment as per the daily cleaning schedule.
  • To clean sanitary and other equipment, with attention to the guidelines for the control of germs and infestation.
  • To deal with refuse and dispose of it in the correct manner.
  • To ensure safe operation and maintenance, as needed, of all equipment.
  • To undertake deep cleans of all areas including residents’ rooms and communal areas.
  • To support the kitchen with washing and cleaning in the evening.
  • To undertake other duties, as may be necessary from time‑to‑time.
  • To communicate effectively and professionally with residents, colleagues and visitors.
  • To work as part of a team supporting others.
  • Using equipment such as knives, cutters, ovens, and kitchen appliances.
  • Cleaning utensils, crockery, pans, appliances, and ovens.
  • Reviewing kitchen inventory and advising what items are needed.
  • Unloading supplies and organising.
  • Ensuring the whole kitchen area is clean and tidy.
