A local charity in Kirklees is looking for a new Treasurer and Trustee to oversee financial processes and support family services. This role requires a qualified accountant (CIMA or ICAEW) with experience in charity finances, budgeting, and reporting. The Treasurer will work with a small administrative team and is expected to dedicate 2-3 days per month. This position offers a chance to positively impact families in the community while shaping the financial direction of the charity.
Would you like to help a local charity that supports families with young children?
Would you like to work with likeminded people and be our new Treasurer and a Trustee for Home-Start Kirklees?
Home-Start Kirklees is an established family support charity based in Kirklees. We support hundreds of families every year, helping them to improve family life through targeted group support sessions and one to one support remotely or in the home. We work closely with health colleagues, social care, Kirklees Council and the voluntary & community sector.
Our current Treasurer has taken up new employment and no longer has the time to support us. We are therefore seeking to appoint a Treasurer. As a Treasurer, you will make a positive difference to the lives of children and parents. The Treasurer is also a Trustee and shares responsibility for ensuring Home-Start Kirklees is working effectively and within charity law.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced accountant (CIMA or ICAEW) to take over the role of Treasurer. We have a small but effective administrative team in-house and outsourced support for payroll and month end processes. We use cloud-based accounting software (Quick Books) and have well developed financial procedures and policies. We are strengthening our in-house team to reduce the burden on the Treasurer to around 2 or 3 days per month. The new Treasurer will have the opportunity to amend/finalise any new approach. The Treasurer will oversee the financial processes, monthly fund analysis and reporting, budgeting, project costing, financial forecasting and the preparation of year end accounts. We are looking for someone who understands Charity finances and who can play an active role in supporting the further growth of our services to families who are facing challenges.
We are keen to have a diverse range of skills and outlooks on the Board and welcome interest from people of all ages, backgrounds, and communities.
