HGV/Plant Technician – Thornton Depot

We are looking for a qualified HGV/Plant Technician to join the Local Authority Garage in Thornton. The successful candidate will maintain and repair a diverse fleet including HGVs, agricultural vehicles and light commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair high-standard vehicles
  • Perform day‑to‑day checks and routine maintenance
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with safety regulations
  • Attend on‑call duties for out‑of‑hours call‑outs
Contract & Remuneration
  • Contractual hours: 37hrs per week, Monday – Friday
  • Salary: Grade 7 – £32,061 to £35,412 per annum
  • Benefits: £3,000 standby allowance per annum, overtime for out‑of‑hours call‑outs, tool allowance
  • Open‑ended contract
