Job description

We're looking for a Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager to join our team

Location: Faslane Naval Base. Hours: Full Time, Permanent We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
What will you be responsible for?

Leading Health Safety and Wellbeing across all construction and civil engineering projects on base you will take an influential role in instilling and maintaining a strong behavioural health and safety culture across project teams, supply chain partners and stakeholders, upholding Kier Group standards at all times.

Your day to day will include:

  • Advising on all aspects of HSW in improving and maintaining high standards and compliance with Kier Group standards.
  • Assessing supply chain H&S plans & RAMS ensuring standards are met, advising on sub contractor engagement for projects.
  • Creating health and safety plans for all activities, imbedding across supply chain and providing HS&W insight to commercial and operational teams to allow achievement of key metrics.
  • Carrying out regular audits and inspections in line with Kier standards and promote best practice and identify areas of improvement, undertaking re-education to ensure highest level of safety.
  • Identifying and reporting non compliance, taking appropriate action to address.
  • Promoting our Kier Behavioural Safety Programme, advise on the Safe Systems at Work, Construction Phase Plans and Environmental Management Plans, and compile SHE monthly progress reports.
  • Chair and attend regular meetings to ensure works are being planned and co-ordinated correctly.
  • A large amount of time will be spent out on site ensuring works are being carried out as planned in line with Legislation, Kier standards and the supply chains agreed safe system of work.
  • Drive implementation of HS&W initiatives strategy objectives.
