Graduate Planner - 2026 In-take

We are offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for a Graduate Planner to join our growing planning team. Working alongside experienced and highly skilled town planners, you will be supported to develop the technical knowledge and practical skills needed for a successful and rewarding career in town planning.

Key Responsibilities

As part of a structured rotation across the Marrons business unit, you will work with national housebuilders, land promoters, and landowners. Your experience will include supporting the securing of planning permissions and land allocations, as well as assisting with the negotiation of Section 106 agreements and planning conditions.

You will play a meaningful role in live projects and the wider success of the business.

What you'll be doing:

  • Help prepare advice on the development potential of land and buildings
  • Assisting with preparing planning applications and appeals
  • Assist in providing policy advice and research
  • Drafting representations to plan consultations and examinations
  • Utilising a range of resources to identify land opportunities
  • Working with senior officers, clients and other consultants to deliver development
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • BA (Hons) in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, or Geography, on track to achieve a 2:1 or above
  • A keen interest in the built and natural environment, with a strong enthusiasm for the Town Planning sector
  • Excellent writing skills, with a strong eye for detail and high level of accuracy
  • Outstanding communication skills, with a friendly and approachable manner
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively and manage time efficiently
  • Strong IT skills
  • Drive, commitment, enthusiasm, and a collaborative, team‑player approach
  • Commitment to personal and career development
