Qualifications

As a Functional Assessor, you’ll conduct assessments and produce fair, evidence‑based reports for individuals applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) as part of the DWP’s Health Assessment and Advisory Service (HAAS).

Position: Functional Assessor.

Salary: Up to £41,612 per annum. Type: Permanent (Hybrid role). Full time: 40 hours (Mon – Fri from 8:30am – 5pm). Location: Bury St. Edmunds – you must be located within a 90‑minute radius of the site to be considered for this role.

With proven experience of working within a medical background you will:

  • Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
  • Interpret clinical information and evidence.
  • Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct.
  • Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below).
  • An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.
  • Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office.
Essentials Qualifications (without these Your Application Cannot Be Considered)
Nurses
  • Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD only).
  • Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
Physios/OTs
  • Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist.
  • Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT’s (COT).
Paramedics
  • BSc or Qualified Paramedic.
  • Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
