Freelance Instructor at Entrust Support Services Ltd

DATES REQUIRED: Potential for year-round work

WORKING PATTERN and PAY SCALE: £140 per day plus additional £40 for evenings and overnights. Hours vary by work stream, but most roles follow a 9:00 am – 5:00 pm schedule.

Entrust Outdoors is a driven company with an experienced team focused on growth and diversification, providing top-quality outdoor education in a sustainable and commercial manner. We are expanding our pool of Outdoor Professionals.

We are seeking enthusiastic freelance instructors to deliver exceptional outdoor learning at leading centres and programmes, including Standon Bowers, Laches Wood, DofE Award, Wilderness Academy, and Base Camp. Instructors will engage young people in activities like Bushcraft, Archery, climbing, BMX, high ropes, and more.

The post holders will be expected to:
  • Be able to effectively plan and deliver high quality educational sessions with an emphasis on safe practice, learning outcomes and a high standard of customer service.
  • Work with the team to ensure the site, Entrust staff, third party suppliers and customers all comply with health and safety requirements/regulations and local working practice.
  • Follow and comply with policies and procedures around Safeguarding, incident management and recording, information security governance, health and safety and risk assessment protocol.
  • Deliver a full and wide range of activities (qualification dependent).
  • Be flexible in their availability to work, including evening and overnights.
Post holders will ideally have the following experience/skills:
  • Experience working with young people in the outdoors.
  • Current and passionate in engaging in a range of outdoor activities.
  • Passionate about engaging young people and developing life skills.
  • High personal standards in presentation, communication and delivering customer service.
  • Relevant experience working in a residential outdoor education setting and delivering outdoor education programmes desirable.
  • Successful candidates will be invited to an induction training day.
  • Relevant experience and National Governing Body awards (e.g., Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, Paddlesport Instructor, Archery GB, First Aid)
