LOCATION: Cardiff or London
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Upto £55,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Purpose of the Role

Join the BBC Finance team within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function to play a pivotal role in shaping financial planning and analysis across the organization.

As an FP&A Analyst, you’ll prepare robust short-to-mid-term divisional budgets and forecasts, partnering with Finance teams to deliver meaningful insights that drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities and Impact
  • Partner with budget holders and Finance teams to provide business advice that supports performance and decision‑making.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within your business area promptly.
  • Prepare divisional forecasts and budgets using data‑driven insights.
  • Oversee self‑serve budget/forecast activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Deliver insightful commentary and variance analysis for stakeholders.
  • Act as lead contact for divisional EFT analysis and finance‑related queries.
  • Support collaboration across Finance functions and prepare management reporting packs.
  • Assist with corporate information requests and submissions.
  • Mentor and support FP&A Associate Analysts as needed.
Your Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Professional accounting accreditation (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong FP&A experience with commercial acumen.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to challenge and interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software.
  • Ability to collaborate across Finance and non‑Finance teams.
  • Experience in identifying process improvements and driving automation.
  • Experience in business partnering and continuous improvement initiatives.
