Qualifications

  • Previous Food & Beverage experience, preferably within a hotel environment.
  • Strong communication skills with guests and team members.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain high standards.

This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Belfast’s most anticipated boutique hotel openings.

Who are we

Opening early 2026, The Bedford Hotel Belfast will be a prestigious boutique hotel set within the iconic Scottish Mutual Building in the heart of the city. With 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, a destination restaurant, cafe/bar, and exclusive private dining rooms, The Bedford Hotel Belfast will set new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.

Role Responsibilities

As a Food & Beverage Assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day service within the Bar and Restaurant, ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered and always maintained in line with our guest expectations.

  • Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for our guests.
  • Be responsible for the service and wellbeing of our guests.
  • Assist in the set up and closedown of the Bar & Restaurant.
  • Familiarise yourself with the menu and as much information about the food and beverage offering available in order to answer any questions guests may have.
  • Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure that the preparation and presentation of each section is of a high standard and is in line with the standards set.
  • Maintain a high standard of Restaurant and back of house cleanliness and hygiene practices.
  • Ensure all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in line with agreed procedures.
  • Prepare all back of house service points with regard to expected numbers for breakfast, lunch or dinner requirements as necessary.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with all departments in the hotel.
Key Requirements
  • Previous Food & Beverage experience, preferably within a hotel environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills, standards driven, good organisational skills.
  • Flexibility – to enjoy working different shift patterns and seeing the operation on different days of the week including the weekends.
  • A warm and friendly personality.
  • Good teamwork skills - we want work to be fun for all our employees.
  • Have a genuine interest in providing hospitality to our customer.
