As a Financial Planning Analyst you will join our Financial Planning and Analysis Team to deliver accurate financial forecasts, analysis and reports that inform critical business decisions. This role is ideal for someone with emerging experience in financial planning, especially within mortgage. You will be eager to develop your analytical capabilities and grow within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. You will play a key support role in delivering accurate financial forecasts, analysis, and reports that inform critical business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and performance reports.
  • Assist with the maintenance, development, and execution of financial planning models, and perform scenario sensitivity analysis using Anaplan.
  • Analyse asset portfolio performance and other key retail banking metrics to provide actionable insights.
  • Prepare variance analyses comparing actual results against forecasts and budgets
  • Support the development of dashboards, reports, and data visualisations for senior management.
  • Maintain and update key financial datasets, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Treasury, Risk, Product and Change
  • Assist in process improvements to enhance planning efficiency and data quality.
  • Perform ad‑hoc analysis to support business initiatives and strategic decision‑making.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • A relevant degree discipline such as Finance and Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Risk or Business.
  • Experience working with (or strong interest in learning) Anaplan or other financial planning software.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills; with high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proactive and keen to learn about specialist banking and Commercial Finance.
  • Experience working in financial services, particularly in banking, lending, or mortgage markets.
  • Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA), or desire to study towards a qualification.
