We’re looking for a talented and driven individual to join our Fraud Analytics team, helping Nationwide stay ahead in the prevention and detection of fraud and scams across our portfolio. In this role, you’ll have the chance to work across all areas of the analytics function and partner with stakeholders across the business to design, develop, and deliver impactful fraud reporting and MI. You’ll play a key part in transforming our current suite of reports and providing actionable insights that make a real difference in protecting our members.

To succeed, you’ll need strong technical skills and the ability to write and build code using tools such as SQL, SAS, and Python. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, so you’ll work closely with colleagues across the Economic Crime department and the wider business to ensure we’re tackling fraud together. We’re looking for someone with curiosity, an open mind, and a passion for learning, because for us, it’s not just about experience, it’s about the drive to grow and succeed.

We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Dunfermline, Belfast, Manchester, London, Northampton, Swindon or Glasgow office. Whilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location we would welcome your application and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll use your technical and analytical expertise to deliver insightful, actionable analysis that helps mitigate significant financial loss and monitor performance across the business. You’ll work closely with the wider analytics team and stakeholders to create solutions that make a real impact. Alongside this, you’ll respond to ad hoc requests from regulators and the business, ensuring timely and accurate information when it matters most. From gathering requirements through development, testing, and deployment, you’ll be involved in every stage of the reporting process, bringing your skills to life and shaping how we fight financial crime.

About you

As a minimum, you’ll need:

Proven experience in writing and building code using languages such as SQL, SAS, or Python, with the ability to develop robust solutions that drive insight and efficiency

Strong knowledge of data visualisation tools and best practices, for example Power BI or Tableau, to present complex information in a clear and impactful way

Exceptional attention to detail and a forensic approach to ensuring accuracy in all aspects of your work

Advanced Excel skills for analysis, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other key functions to support data‑driven decisions

A logical, problem‑solving mindset with the confidence to make recommendations, influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels, and translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences

The ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders, turning insight into action

A change‑focused mindset, with experience in leading or supporting process improvements and driving transformation
