Finance Business Partner (12-month Secondment) | Barnsley | ASOS

Are you a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)? Do you have experience managing finance teams across multiple sites? Can you demonstrate strong knowledge of both open book and closed book contracts within a warehousing and transport environment?

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a dynamic Finance Business Partner to lead GXO Finance teams across multiple sites (Barnsley, Doncaster, Leeds, and Brighouse), overseeing a combined turnover of £120m. This role required strong thought leadership and the ability to deliver clear, credible reporting to both GXO and our customers. You will manage a mixture of open and closed book contracts, covering warehousing and transport operations.

Your mission is to provide accurate, insightful financial data that supports operational decision-making for key stakeholders. You will lead a team across multiple locations, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 08:30 till 17:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Deliver accurate weekly flashes, period reporting, forecasting, and budgeting exercises
  • Ensure clarity and robustness of accounting and balance sheets across all contract areas
  • Manage financial controls related to Gainshare and contract performance
  • Support business change initiatives, including project accounting and process improvements
  • Develop team structure, succession planning, and standardisation of processes

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Full qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a complex, multi-site environment
  • Strong understanding of open book and closed book contracts
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external
  • Experience within a supply chain or logistics environment
  • Ability to lead and develop teams across multiple locations
