Finance Assistant - 12 month FTC

Salary: £26,000 to £31,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location: Remote – must be based within the UK.

Interview process: Two rounds. 1) Get to know you chat with the People Recruitment Manager; 2) Technical competency with the Hiring Lead and a Team Member.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a passion for finance and a keen eye for accuracy. You’ll have experience in a finance or accounting role, strong numerical and analytical skills, and proficiency in tools like MS Excel and accounting software.

Things move quickly here, so we’re looking for someone who is forward-thinking, organized, and adaptable. Ideally you’ll be working towards a professional qualification (AAT, ACCA, or CIMA) and have an interest in supporting a growing, data-driven consultancy.

What Will You Do?

In this role, you will manage day‑to‑day financial operations, including processing invoices, expenses, and payments, while maintaining accurate records in our accounting systems. You’ll support month‑end and year‑end activities, prepare client invoices, monitor payments, and assist with reconciliations. Additionally, you’ll contribute to budgeting and forecasting, ensure compliance with financial policies, and provide ad‑hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider team on projects and reporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:
    • Process supplier invoices and employee expenses.
    • Prepare and send client invoices, monitor payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Bank & Cash Management:
    • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
    • Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting.
  • Financial Administration:
    • Maintain accurate financial records in accounting systems.
    • Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare basic financial reports for internal stakeholders.
    • Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis.
  • Compliance & Governance:
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant financial regulations.
    • Support audit preparation and documentation.
