Female Wake Night Carer – Hangleton (10pm–8am)

Location: East Sussex Office - Brighton

Contract Type: Part-Time hours, Zero-hours contract

Contract Type: Full-Time hours, Guaranteed hours contract, Part-Time hours, Zero-hours contract

Specific Hours: Typically 7:00am – 2:30pm or 2:30pm – 10:00pm

Contract Type: Guaranteed hours contract, Full-Time hours, Part-Time hours

Pay: £12.60 per hour
Hours: 10:00pm – 8:00am (wake nights)
Location: Hangleton
Contract: Part-time (urgent need to cover upcoming MAT leave)

Role overview
Support a client with dementia during wake night shifts. The client will be in bed; your presence provides reassurance and gives the husband essential respite. You’ll monitor wellbeing, support continence care as needed, follow the care plan, record observations, and elevate any concerns.

What you’ll do

  • Provide compassionate night support and reassurance
  • Follow care plans and risk assessments (dementia awareness)
  • Support with personal care where required, maintaining dignity
  • Accurate record‑keeping via our electronic care app
  • Safeguarding, confidentiality, lone working and escalation

Requirements

  • Female‑only: genuine occupational requirement due to intimate personal care and client dignity (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9)
  • Caring, reliable, professional communicator
  • Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship)
  • Enhanced DBS (we guide you through)
  • Drivers and non‑drivers welcome; most routes are walking. Free bus pass or 40p/mile mileage.
  • Paid training, PPE, and ongoing support
  • Same hours each working day encouraged for continuity
