A forward-thinking construction technology startup in London is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their Product Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing engineering teams and scaling processes in a high-growth environment. This role offers a competitive salary between £110k-130k, generous equity, and a hybrid work model. Join a diverse and mission-driven team focused on reshaping the construction industry with advanced data solutions.
We’re nPlan, a Series B startup backed by leading investors including GV (formerly Google Ventures) and DeepMind’s founder, Demis Hassabis. Our technology helps the world’s biggest construction projects make faster, more confident, data-driven decisions.
By combining one of the world’s largest datasets of project plans with advanced machine learning, we forecast project outcomes and reduce risk — reshaping how infrastructure gets built.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Product Engineering team in London.
You’ll report to our CTO and work closely with our VP of Product and senior engineers within the department.
In this role you’ll contribute to the development of the department and our products, guiding engineers from Frontend to Infrastructure in ensuring our capabilities and capacities are constantly growing. You’ll mentor and grow senior engineers, unblock hard problems, and push the Engineering department by setting and achieving ambitious objectives and high standards of performance.
We work with complex graph data (each with 10,000+ nodes), applying multiple ML and LLM approaches to understanding the data, extracting meaningful insights using a proprietary forecasting engine, and empowering deep human interactions – all of which must work efficiently and robustly in production.
As a startup, we also keep agile in a fast-moving environment. With this technology, nPlan are creating first of its kind products that can significantly improve the planning and delivery of major construction projects.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on technical depth, intellectual challenge, and impact at scale.
You’ll work alongside top engineers, AI specialists, and product experts shaping the future of project intelligence.
We’re after specialists who bring both expertise and curiosity.
For this role we are looking for.
We care more about potential and drive than perfection. If you’re excited by what we’re building, we want to hear from you. If you understand the nuances of building sustainable practices and motivating teams in a scaling start-up, you’ll feel right at home here.
We’re a curious, diverse, and mission-driven team united by a belief that better data can change how the world builds.
We value openness, honesty, and diversity of thought — and believe the best ideas win, no matter where they come from.
Expect openness, collaboration, and balance — plus socials and offsites, of course!
