Engineer Analyst (Windows OS) Vulnerability Management
Location: United Kingdom (Virtual)
Overview:
Reporting to the Global Director of Infrastructure and Products, the Analyst Windows Server Vulnerability Engineer will be responsible for remediation and support of distributed computing systems with reference to vulnerabilities and patching. The role supports vulnerability reduction of Windows Server infrastructure (both physical and virtual), working closely with application management, development and other IT teams. The candidate must have a solid work ethic, be detail‑oriented, and have strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- 60% - Ensure the global stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the systems and infrastructure that support core organizational functions, and conduct research on new and emerging technologies for practical application to business problems and strategic initiatives.
- 20% - Demonstrate advanced application of technical skills and interpersonal competencies.
- 20% - Provide direct global technical support for all requirements in developing strategy, planning, coordination, scripting, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to the distributed computing environment. Participate in several small to medium-scale projects and tasks of various complexities across the enterprise.
Experience & Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience installing and supporting Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, Clustering, virtual and physical environments.
- Experience working with and troubleshooting Windows operating systems.
- Strong experience with PowerShell scripting.
- Hands‑on experience installing and supporting VMware.
- Hands‑on experience managing IaaS and PaaS in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of server technologies, hardware, operating systems, and related tools and applications.
- Expert technical diagnostic and research skills for servers and troubleshooting.
- Ability to identify and elevate issues to management to meet SLA requirements.
- In‑depth knowledge of networking components and services such as TCP/IP protocols, DHCP, DNS, and LAN/WAN topologies.
- Ability to assess risks and take appropriate actions to restore services during outages.
- Ability to explain technical implications of alternative solutions to management.
- Customer‑service orientation, proven dependability, promptness, and a solid attendance history.
- Ability to perform in a highly motivated, self‑directed, well‑organized manner handling multiple assignments concurrently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Experience with BigFix.
- Experience with Nutanix HCI.
- Experience using ServiceNow ITIL managed processes.
